Volunteer - FAQ

Can anyone volunteer or must I belong to a church?

We welcome all volunteers regardless of their religious affiliation.

How will I know what to do?

Opportunities include cooking eggs, plating or serving food, cleaning tables, distributing grocery bags and traffic control both indoors and outdoors during our Hunger Prevention Program; serving food to children and their families during KidZone© teaching Job Readiness classes; helping with social service needs, office work, building maintenance and much more. Experienced volunteers supervise all of these areas and will give you clear instructions.

When can I come?

If you would like to volunteer during our Hunger Prevention Program, any Saturday morning except the first Saturday of the month (we are closed), please arrive by 8:30 AM. If you are coming with a group, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at 212-375-1765 or send an email to so your group can be scheduled appropriately.
