Where?
- New York City - interns will live and work in the East Village (Alphabet City) in Lower Manhattan
- Interns will live and work in the East Village, a historic and hip neighborhood. Over the years, the Lower East Side has acquired many names like "Loisaida" - describing the Latino barrio around Avenues B and C, and "Alphabet City" - harkening back to an era of violence and drug activity, and most recently, the "East Village" - a new trendy in-spot for young professionals. However, the Lower East Side has always predominantly been home to immigrants and working-class poor and these long-time residents are struggling to survive in a community where the cost of living has skyrocketed due to gentrification.
- Interns will live and work in a multi-ethnic community
- Located near the L train and Union Square, The Father's Heart Ministry Center is a short trip to Greenwich Village, SoHo, Little Italy, Chinatown, Midtown, Downtown and Ground Zero
Why?
- To empower people through practical and spiritual assistance, to break the cycle of dependency and poverty, to restore dignity to those in need and to help them become self-sufficient.
- To gain experience in ministry and acquire the skills to operate a not-for-profit corporation or to develop one.

- Single adults ages 18 to 30

- September 1, 2007 to May 31, 2008
